I won a copy of this book from Goodreads First Reads program. This book sets out to tell the tale of the forgotten most unknown of Rosetti's models, Alexa Wilding. It however, strays quite far from even the few known facts. It then adds a great deal of flowery prose. The characters were not engaging to me. Time passed and yet characters... Like her blog posts better although good insights into pre Raphael England. I loved this story about Alexa Wilding, one of Rossetti's models. This is one of my favourite subject matters, and living so close to Kelmscott Manor, I have been there many times so it was great to read the parts of the book set there. Well written and engaging.
