The Living Light
A Fantasy book. I hate reading this type of book because i ended...
“This is going to be difficult for you to understand but it’s going to be even harder for you to believe. I do not even know where to begin… but you need to at least know the basics. Fairytales are real… Monsters are real. Everything you’ve ever heard about magic, mythical creatures, and the supernatural is all based in truth. It exists in a world beyond the one you see out your window… and it’s where your parents came from… It’s where you came from.” When Nero Cassidy first heard these words, he could not believe his ears. After all, he was a normal teenager living in a normal city in America. But after only one week from hearing these words, Nero had battled nightmarish creatures, had befriended a little girl with the ability to appear and disappear at will, and had nearly been eaten by a carnivorous flower. More About The Living Light
I hate reading this type of book because i ended up staying up all night reading it and was extremely tired when i went to work.I liked the main characters, though at first i thought Soto was a bad guy...Waiting anxiously for book 2 to appear! This was very cool, and sure to please sword-and-sorcery fantasy fans who like some modern/urban fantasy thrown into the mix. I especially liked that Nancarrow used both the scary and the beautiful (and everything in between) of the fantasy world--it works a lot better than stories that dwell too much on the darkness, or are too saturated... Loved this book and recommend it to everyone. Following the main character Nero on his adventurse from our world to the fantasy world Mr. Nancarrow creates is as much fun as I have had reading in a long time. The supporting cast (my favorite is Gaelyn) add so much depth to the story and as a reader you get caught up in their lives too....
