More About The Year of Magical Thinking: The Play
I don't think I can fully appreciate this play without reading the novel. However, I was moved by the play so I can't imagine what the novel will do to me. This happened on December 30, 2003. That may seem a while ago but it won't when it happens to you. And it will happen to you. The details will be different, but it will happen to you. That's what I'm here to tell you.So begins Joan Didion's play about the deaths of her husband, John Gregory Dunne, and her daughter, Quintana Roo Dunne... This is a book on grief; dealing with it and coping w/ it. This really was a great book because I could relate to a lot of the same emotions this writer was feeling. This book helped put various things in perspective.
