This is the second play in the Inishmore trilogy (the third was never published), and it is by far the darkest of all McDonagh's work. Pitch black. Full of the same laugh-out-loud dialogue and absurdist situations, this play has a much crueler, more pessimistic core. The final scenes are horrifically violent, and McDonagh is unrelenting... As a result, I felt that this play offered nothing I hadnt seen before. To me, McDonagh seems something of a one-trick pony, or maybe two-tricks:... So listening to the teacher and another student reading the first 2 scenes of this out in drama class in fish accents was absolutely hilarious!
