There are quiet a few good essays on here that have well supported arguments. The essay on Marx's personal history was interesting. What stops me from really loving this book are the stereotypical right wing defenses of Ronald Reagan, the actions of police officers and parental authority. Also calling out the "Left" and "Liberals" specifically... Recommend for the newest reader to Thomas Sowell, covers his work on Economics, Race and the Political Scene. A little to much emphasis on Intellectuals and Society, but could see why considering it is a recent book that covered a lot of the same ground as his previous works. The only excerpt that didn't work for me was the section... I started this book just after the Soul of Black Folks and I must say I had already approached it earlier and got quite a good impression of it. It confronted my ideas, expressed some things I think without saying them and, overall, is a really easy read. Sadly, once you get past the first articles, of which this book is entirely composed...
